Revisão Tag questions e prepositions

• Tag questions são pequenas perguntas colocadas no final das orações, para pedir uma informação ou uma confirmação do que foi dito.

• Características gerais das tag questions:

      o   oração afirmativa – a tag question será negativa (forma contraída);

      o   oração negativa – a tag question será afirmativa;

      o   vem sempre após uma vírgula;

      o   é sempre formada por um verbo auxiliar e um pronome.

Vitória is working, isn’t she? Maíra isn’t working, is she?	They work here, don’t they? They don’t work here, do they?
Bob plays the piano well, doesn’t he? Bob doesn’t play the piano, does he?	Telma talked to you, didn’t she? Telma didn’t talk to you, did she?
Leila can swim, can’t she? Tereza can’t swim, can she?	Manoel will come tomorrow, won’t he? Manoel will not (won’t) come tomorrow, will he?

- Quando a frase estiver na 1ª pessoa do singular e o verbo for o to be a tag question não segue a regra geral.

I am fired, aren’t I?        I’m too fat, aren’t I?

     - Quando a frase é um imperativo negative ou afirmativa, a tag question é will you?

     Sit down, will you?         Don’t open the window, will you?

      - A tag question que corresponde a Let’s (+ verbo) é shall we?

      Let’s go, shall we?           Let’s have a drink, shall we?
